I discovered the fabulous PhotoMuse (and these awesome photos) when I first was in touch with the high end online directory for photographers, Cake and Pictures who represent the best of wedding photographers globally. Naturally, I immediately surfed their entire network and fell in love with these gorgeous shots. Thanks so much to Kristin for sharing these images with OMG and congrats to the happy couple!
A bit about the bride and groom… Kate and Travis were married at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in the Poconos. Kristin says “Can I just say, I adore Katherine and Travis! From the beginning when I would communicate with Kate, she was always clear and vibrant with so many fun ideas. Her emails are always thoughtful and sincere. I was looking forward to her wedding for quite some time and she didn’t let me down! Steven and I enjoyed ourselves quite a bit, and we think we got some nice pics too.” I think I adore them too. Travis is a LTJG in the US NAVY and the wedding was planned over the course of his two 6 month deployments, which I find even more swoon worthy.
I really love the dreamy way the reception was set up with lights and those big stars and the colours work perfectly with the outdoor ceremony. Kate wanted the overall design of the day to feel romantic and earthy which I think she pretty much nailed.
And now a bit from the bride:
1. “My best advice to other brides is first and foremost find vendors who are friendly and excited to work with you. There are so many vendors in the wedding industry, theres no need to work with unprofessional people or anyone who makes you feel like you’re just another check in the bank to them.”
2. “Secondly, think out side of the box. The first unspoken rule when designing interiors is “no matchy matchy” and I know I subconsciously applied it to all my wedding decisions because its so ingrained in my mind.”
3. “Finally, surround yourselves with the people you love and who mean the most to you. We didnt want anyone to feel obligated to come to our wedding because we knew all to well the pangs of obligation whether they be in social or professional scenarios.”
Make sure to check out both Cake & Pictures for more great photographers in your area as well as the lovely PhotoMuse website and blog. Have a good one!
