This past week has made me feel VERY fancy. Not only was I lucky enough to take part in an amazing bloggers photoshoot with some of the coolest people I have ever met (sneak peak post coming up this afternoon!) but I was also thrilled to receive an invite to celebrity wedding planner Mark Niemierko’s annual unrivaled St. Valentine’s Day Party. These two events happened to fall on the same day so you can imagine how excited I was about everything and I’m not sure how I actually kept it together.
As usual, Mark managed to out do himself and put on what can only be described as the most fabulous party I have ever been to. (Aside from weddings of course because those are just teeny bit more fab) To briefly describe the night – myself, Annabel of Love My Dress, Charley of London Bride, Kat of RocknRoll Bride and Lisa Devlin Photographer extraordinaire, were whisked away in a cab from our earlier bloggers shoot to the beautiful Browns Bride shop in Marylebone. Having been there previously to try on some wedding dresses, I could not actually believe how the space had been transformed into an amazing party lounge with multiple rooms of awesomeness. Browns Bride is exclusively home to the most luxurious wedding dresses one could ever dream of, offering the likes of Peter Langner (whom I’ve had the opportunity to interview here), Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera and now Vera Wang.
Guests were invited to try an assortment of treats from the delicious canapes by Peyton Events that circled the room and the espresso martinis (which I found IMMEDIATELY) all the way through to an entire dessert room fashioned by the uber luxe dessert queen herself, Peggy Porschen. The rooms were littered with fabulous looking people, gorgeous floral arrangements by Rob Van Helden, and love notes seductivley scribed on the mirrors of the shop by calligrapher Paul Antonio.
I also got the chance to shmooze with some of my favorite wedding people like the lovely Helen of Cutture gorgeous Julia of Modern Photographic and Niki of Allora Visuals. I even ran into the stunning lady who sold me my wedding dress and of course lost all sense of control and gave her a massive hug and squeal. Her name is Jean and she is fab.
Needless to say, the evening was expertly planned all the way down to the personalized goody bags, single white rose gifts from Rob Van Helden and excellent service from start to finish. Thanks very much to Mark Niemierko and Caroline Burstein, Creative Director of Browns Bride, for having me, it was absolutely divine. For a closer look at the wedding gliteratti that graced the inside of Brown’s Bride last week, have a look at Annabel of Love My Dress’s account of the evening as well.
Peta Hunt, Fashion Director of You & Your Wedding Magazine, joined videographers Allora Visuals to interview everyone involved and ask them how they’d like to romantically spend Valentine’s Day, and of course with whom…
OMG that’s me! And the lovely Kat aka Rock n Roll Bride
