Good morning! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I have a gorgeous wedding to start the week off shot by the lovely South African wedding photographer Jacki Bruniquel. Featuring a real life Italian opera diva, Raffaella and her pro golfer husband, Grant, this bride and groom chose the elegant Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, South Africa for their wedding reception and isn’t it beautiful? How sweet is that lighthouse and how blue is that water?
The wedding was designed with a classic theme to match the gorgeous venue with a palette of deep pinks, plums and silver accents. The bride wore a Jim Hjelm wedding dress and the groom’s suit was by Hugo Boss. Raffaella also wore luxurious swarovski crystals and pearl earrings and a bracelet custom-designed and made by Renee Pawele. All floral arrangementments and centerpieces were created by Designer Flowers and Functions.
Advice from the Bride:
It is important to really express your vision with your vendors. Describe in detail what your expectations are and share images of color schemes, decor etc., that will help them understand the overall effect you want to create. If you’re planning a destination wedding – don’t be overwhelmed! It can be done, just be prepared to work at it to make sure you’re in constant communication with your vendors and have agreed on clear timelines and deadlines. Stay organized and put your management hat on!
Best decision made:
Since Grant and I now live in the United States, we were considering a wedding in the United States, however we knew, by going home to South Africa, we would be able to enjoy the wedding with many more of our immediate family and relatives. For other couples in the same predicament, carefully consider your guest list and who has been part of your lifelong journey thus far. Choose your location appropriately so those closest to you can be part of the best day of your life, and your most cherished memories.
