A Nod to the Royal Wedding – Quintessentially English Photoshoot

So it is officially here. The Royal Wedding. OMG. By now some of you might be out in the park, some of you throwing a party, some of you off holidaying somewhere fabulous, and others will be following twitter, facebook and the television as close as humanly possible to take the entire day in. Its pretty incredible how quickly time has gone and how Kate and Co. have managed to keep so many secrets! I for one, am DESPERATE to find out what sort of dresses she is going to be wearing, among other details. Its awesome to be here in the UK to experience everything first hand and what better way to celebrate the big day than to feature this fabulous Royal Wedding inspired photoshoot? Thanks so much to Laurra of One Life Ceremonies for sharing this shoot and hope everyone is enjoying the festivities wherever they are!

Shot in the beautiful Goldsborough Hall (did you know Princess Mary used to live there?) the place is full of little reminders of its history with many photographs of the royal wedding between Princess Mary and Henry, Viscount Lascelles. Laurra asked photographer Mark Tierney to work on the shoot as she knew his moody style would work perfectly with the dark wood, chesterfieldsuites, dim yellow lamp lights and stunning chandeliers of Goldsborough Hall. Armed with the help of (another) Laura from Little White Book who had lots of lovely little pieces to add to the shoot from tiny little union jack bunting to handmade garters, tiaras and some amazing shoes, the result was a quintessentially English extravaganza complete with with jam and cream scones and a very English Wedding cake thanks to Charlotte’s CreativeCakes.
