Altar-ed Vintage Bridal Tea Party – The Report!

Hello OMG Readers! I am super excited to share the photos from our very first Altar-ed event last month at Dartmouth House! This event was the result of a collaboration between myself and Mary Lee Herrington of Forever and Ever Events under the umbrella Altar-ed, and is just the first of hopefully many more to come!

In an effort to go one step further than the average wedding event, we hoped to bring a tailored experience for brides and their bridesmaids in the form of an intimate, interactive masterclass with some of the best-of-the-best in the London wedding community (see below for all the amazing vendors we were lucky to have on board). Guests were encouraged to come dressed in their vintage finest, and were taught makeup and hair techniques whilst given the opportunity to try on a wide range of gorgeous headpieces from Edwina Ibbotson’s collection and pose for the lovely Shella of Shell de Mar Photography,  who was busy snapping away documenting the whole evening. We also have a fabulous super 8 film on its way which was shot by I Do Films (Stay tuned!). All whilst drinking wine, eating scones, finger sandwiches and cakes by Restoration Cake, and listening to the lovely background music provided by Sternberg Clarke, of course.

The evening started out with guests arriving at the venue, each receiving an escort card that directed them to their table, all of which were named after different vintage icons such as Gretta Garbo or Marilyn Monroe. The tables were decorated with an eclectic mix of vintage china provided by The Vintage Table and adorned with gorgeous floral arrangements designed by Wild About Flowers. Once seated, ladies then had their own notebook designed by Hello!Lucky in collaboration with OMG, complete with a face chart and notes section to jot down tips and tricks for their big day look. After a quick demonstration by celebrity makeup artist Claire Hanson, the evening finished with a series of 1 on 1 tutorials and consultations with 10 of her most experiences makeup artists. Girls had the chance to not only try out options for their own bridal makeup, but also have a consultation for their bridesmaids if they were there too.

Last but no least, everyone left with a goodie bag full of treats to take home. All in all, we could not be happier with the outcome and are so pleased to have been able to work with so many great vendors and meet so many lovely brides to be! Make sure to check out the full gallery on the Altar-ed website and leave a comment if you’d like to be added to the mailing list for the next one!
