I am super pleased to be sharing with you this summertime cool campervan wedding, shot by the lovely Hector and Charlie of We Heart Pictures! CJ and Ivor were married in July of this year at St John’s and the Londonderry Arms in Carnlough, N.Ireland. A family friend, Fr Gerry Cassidy, said the mass making it super special and of course resulting in loads of emotions for the bridal party and their guests. With an overall theme of friends and family, pretty much every detail of the big day featured the work, talent and love of this couple’s dearest.
One of the biggest features was the rebuilding of the couples’ camper van in honour of the day – 6 months hard work by Ivor!! Curtains and cushions were made by his mum and sister – how awesome is that? CJ’s dress was a reworked vintage silk piece hand stitched with help from her mum and sister (OMG) and she wore a headpiece made by her friend as well, while Igor was dressed to the nines in a smart Paul Smith suit complete with cufflinks made from dolls house teacups and decorated by the bride with gold transfers of their names.
The couple designed their our own invites and menus based on a drawing they did together and then had lasercut by a friend. They also had stamps made by Manchester rubber stamp company and stamped everyone’s name on a luggage tag along with their dinner choices for their name cards.
The 2 bouquets were done by Rose Devine in Belfast. Vintage china from charity shops in Wales, Ireland and Manchester dressed the tables in an eclectic style filled with peonies, lilies and other bits from supermarkets bought the night before!
Advice from the Bride:
Enjoy it all, don’t get stressed, and make sure you work with people that you can relax with.
None at all! Best day of our lives… Best decision made: Getting a brilliant photographer like Hector – it’s the best money you can spend.
We had my nieces, nephews and their friends play the music for the mass, which was amazing, they then played outside for the drinks and again after the band. Anna O’Neill organised all that. My nephew Matthew made 250 meringues for everyone for the drinks reception too! The hotel was amazing, and the day ran so smoothly, perfect location…
Ivor and I didn’t want to do a traditional ‘first dance’ so we learnt Deliverance on guitar and violin and played this instead! With a little help from Anna, Katie and their friends of course…
Hector and Charlie suggested that our fancy dress box could be used in a photobooth style set up in the evening and we got the most hilarious photos from that… Priceless!!
All in all an amazing day had by all.
Thanks so much to Hector and Charlie of for sharing such a beautiful wedding and congrats to the happy couple on a gorgeous wedding!
