Mood Swap: A Wintery Christmas Wedding with Reverie Magazine

Following the success of our Halloween Wedding Mood Swap earlier this year, I asked quirky awesome wedding planner & designer Mary Herrington of Forever & Ever Events and Editor-in-Chief of the first online wedding magazine in the UK, Reverie Magazine, to join in the Christmas festivities and get together another load of lovely winter wedding ideas to share with you.

Make sure to hop on over the to Reverie Magazine blog to see what I put together as well and have an amazing, wonderful, jolly, chocolate covered, candy cane flavoured Christmas! Reverie Magazine has its debut issue launching on January 12th 2012. Take it away Mary!

For a winter wedding set around the holidays, I say embrace the fact that it’s the holiday season! Obviously don’t go over the top with insane amounts of fake snow and please don’t hire a fake Santa Claus to entertain your guests because, well, you want to keep some degree of taste in your celebration, don’t you? I say, glam it up big time with a color palette that showcases loads of gold tones with splashes of holiday reds and greens. For a winter holiday wedding, a bride might want to seriously consider rocking it in a dramatic gold dress, like this incredible sheath gown by Badgley Mischka with feathered cap sleeves (major swoooon!). It would be a sin to go with a dull pair of heels when wearing a bombshell dress like this, so there is nobody else you can turn to than Christian Louboutin, my shoe god. Keep your ladies happy with a long holly green dress and a bouquet of white astilbe – which looks like it’s covered in delicate snow! Embrace the season further with contemporary invitations with red accents and, of course, a very boozy eggnog cocktail served in a sophisticated martini glass, glamourous velveteen gold furnishings and holly place cards. Then send those old friends off with a little bunting calendar gift for the new year and yummy festive treats in their tummies. And if you’re getting engaged this holiday season, perhaps consider dropping a few hints for a ginormous emerald ring?! Then get in touch with me to plan your wedding!

Now go on and check out my mood swap over on the Reverie Magazine blog for some more Christmas cheer!
