So you probably all know I love a good cake design, and I equally – if not more – love a good wedding dress. I chose my own wedding cake because it resembled my gown in its frills and ruffles and then decided to add a black sash for the reception to match the cake right back again. Now of course there is no rule or reason for doing this but it was a nice touch and a fun concept that worked for me.
Today’s feature is all about cakes inspired by the most fabulous couture wedding dress designers out there and totally delightful. Thanks so much to Cakes by Shelly for sharing the new 2012 Wedding Couture Collection. Each cake in the collection has been individually designed focusing around the new bridal collections of designers including Rivini, Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier and Carolina Herrera.
The cakes feature key details of the designers 2012 collections. From the architectural black and nude gowns of Vera Wang, the crystal details of Marchesa to the white on white embellishment of Angel Sanchez there is a cake for every style of bride in the collection.
Brides can choose their filling from Shelly’s portfolio of 11 exquisite flavours including Traditional Fruit Cake, Rich Chocolate Cake, White Chocolate and Raspberry, Cherry and Amaretto, and her decadent Champagne sponge.
Fabulous right? What’s even more fabulous is the fact that OMG readers can have 10% off any new order, all you have to do is contact Michelle – firstname.lastname@example.org – and mention the feature to get your exclusive discount. Now see if you can guess which cake belongs to which designer?
