Today I have a beautiful Hales Hall Barn wedding to share with you thanks very much to the fabulous Natasha Hurley. Sarah and Andrew were married in the summer of last year and chose green and yellow colour scheme to tie it all together. With their ceremony starting off at the St. Michael & St Felix Parish church in Suffolk, they then moved onto the gorgeous barn for their reception.
Dress and Shoe designers:
DRESS: Sarah wore a dress from Crystal Weddings and found totally awesome bright green latin ballroom shoes from Ebay while Andrew wore a dashing suit from John Field. The bridesmaids wore beautiful dresses from Coast and chose their own shoes to carry the colour palette on throughout the day. I absolutely LOVE their dresses!
All flowers and centerpieces were designed by New Beginnings and the scrabble place settings were sourced on Ebay.
Advice from the Bride:
Consider carefully who to ask to come dress shopping with you. I found dress shopping very overwhelming, and it was so helpful having a mixture of personalities: your Mum, who’ll tell you that everything looks amazing (making you feel a million dollars but proving less helpful when trying to choose from 100!) and your hand picked honest others who’ll help you see the wood through the trees.
Not really! It quite literally was the best day of our lives. If hindsight’s taught us anything it would be to have had our photographer stay until the bitter end. It the thick of wedding planning we didn’t stop to think how great it would be to have the dancing action shots to round off our amazing collection. Equally to have asked for a photo of my Grandma, and Andrew’s Grandparents. We were keen not to spend ages on posed shots, but some people are too important to miss out.
Best decision made:
Can we write a list?!
-Asking Sarah’s Mum to close the ceremony with an unseen reading. It made it very personal.
-Organising a VW Campervan to take us to our reception as a surprise for Andrew. It’s lovely to have a secret up your sleeve, and the look on his face made my day!
-Serving our guests Bangers & Mash. There was such a relaxed atmosphere with everyone tucking into such hearty English Food.
-Having a wedding list with a local, rather than national, department store (Jarrolds). The service we received was second to none.
Thanks so much to Natasha Hurley for sharing this gorgeous wedding and have a good one!
