A Multicultural Multicoloured Summer Wedding – Andrea & Rodrgio

You might remember Andrea & Rodrigo’s autumn inspired engagement shoot from last year. Well today I have their beautiful summer wedding to share as well!

Andrea and Rodrigo were married last summer in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the Lyndale Park Rose Garden in Minneapolis followed by a vintage fiesta themed reception held at the Theodore Wirth Golf Course. I absolutely love the laid back, hand crafted feel of this wedding with all the bright colours and personal touches. The bridal party did their own flowers by

Andrea wore a dress by Casablanca and Vera Wang Shoes accessorised perfectly with vintage pieces that belonged to the her mother and grandmother; along with pearl and turquoise earrings by Christie of Christieg. Meanwhile Rodrigo looked dashing in a Calvin Klein suit.

The bridesmaids looked awesome in the mismatched, multicoloured dresses from Chinese Laundry and also wore Vera Wang shoes to match.

The couple’s super cute stationery was done by Rene’ Bross of PartyMonkey and the entire day was captured beautifully by Natalie Champa Jennings.

Advice from the Bride:
Enjoy your engagement! Strike a balance between wedding planning and the rest of your life… remember to spend time with your fiance where you catch up on non-wedding topics. If you go the DIY route, make it fun by asking friends and family to help out and contribute their talents and abilities. And lastly, make your wedding all about you and your fiance — incorporate details that tell about you both and your relationship together.

Any regrets?:
We wish we would have packed a bag of things that we only needed for the reception, like a surprise recorded message from family members who weren’t able to make it to the wedding, which unfortunately got misplaced during the commotion of the day (we listened to it at the gift-opening the next day — still an awesome surprise!).

Best decision made:
To incorporate aspects of both my husband’s and my cultures into our day — we had a Lutheran ceremony that included Spanish guitar and bilingual vows, and then at the reception, we had a mariachi band, used Mexican fiesta flags as decorations, and had a buffet of Mexican and American food…it was awesome and really felt like us!

Thanks so much to Natalie Champa Jennings for sharing such a great wedding – enjoy the rest of your weekend!
