Good evening OMG readers! I could not be happier to share this gorgeous shoot featuring the lovely luxury wedding planning duo, Emma and Sam of Hawke & Hughes. They are like Sex in the City, Carrie Bradshaw and all her fashion fabulousness meets the wedding industry and I’m all for it!
I met these two girls a year ago at the Niemierko Wedding Academy and could not believe my eyes when I saw them just 12 months later at the fabulous Wedding Magazine event co-hosted by Something Blue PR. Business set up, running and already taking on brides galore, Same and Emma had a beautiful table set up with stunning styling and every detail considered. They were just so excited to be doing what they loved, it was an absolute pleasure to see these two in action.
Launched in early 2012, Hawke & Hughes creates beautiful, bespoke and elegant weddings throughout the UK taking inspiration from the world of high-end fashion and luxury interiors. Offering the ultimate bridal experience, from the initial briefing consultation to the on-day styling and set-up, every element of the day is executed with precision in line with the overall creative vision.
What I love about these two girls is their impeccable style (of course) and really fun energy. They obviously love their fashion and have some classy taste, but you also just sort of want to be their best friend. Super sweet and really excited about taking the wedding industry on, I can’t wait to see what Hawke & Hughes has in store for 2013. Speaking of 2013, the girls put together a few thoughts on the trends we will be seeing in this year’s round of wedding goodness. Have a quick read and if you’re in need of some wedding goodness, give these girls a call!
Hawke & Hughes’ thoughts on wedding trends for 2013…
Hailed as the pantone colour of the year, Emerald will play an integral role within colour palettes for 2013. Used as a stand-alone feature colour, or combined with similar jewel tones such as Ruby, Sapphire and Amethyst, expect to see rich and dynamic colours adorning bridesmaids and wedding decor across the country.
Bold patterns, geometric prints and textured fabrics will all be used to inject a sense of fun into wedding styling throughout 2013. From table runners to place names and invitations expect to see a step away from pale coloured vintage styling, replaced instead with bold and eye-catching prints.
Influenced by this year’s hugely anticipated blockbuster ‘The Great Gatsby’, expect to see a surge in the popularity of intricate detailing. Inspired by the glitzy Art Deco period, chrome, embossed motifs and embellishment will be the styling look of choice for fashion forward brides, as too will pearls, lace and capped veils.
Drawing inspiration from the runways of Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka and Marchesa, this years biggest bridal trend is the neckline, or rather the invisible neckline. From lace sleeves to sheer cover ups glamour will be injected into bridal gowns through delicate embellishment focused on the neckline. Asymmetric cuts will be used to create an edgy look whilst soft fabrics such as brushed satin and silk will skim the silhouette creating an effortlessly elegant look.
2013 will see an emergence of break-out areas, creating a haven of tranquility where guests can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding and take five minutes to rest their weary dancing feet.
Bringing the outdoors in through the use of fairy lights, lanterns, moss, branches and natural wood products will be popular among couples looking to blur the boundaries of their indoor and outdoor space, creating an enchanted garden feel to their big day. A hint of glitz and sparkle can create a glamorous twist to this outdoor rustic look.
